from THE INTER-INSTITUTIONAL TEACHER EDUCATION COUNCIL OF WEST MICHIGAN!
In the West Michigan area, we are a teacher education council with representation from each area college or university that provides a teacher education program. Inter-institutionally, we work together to provide student teachers, classroom teachers, and anyone working in education in the West Michigan area with helpful professional development opportunities. We conduct a yearly survey which tracks hiring patterns of new teachers in the West Michigan area, and we provide on-going communication with other regional and state teacher education groups. We are committed to providing support and enhancing the excellence of our current and future educators.Mission Statement
The Council’s mission is to be a catalyst for networking and collaboration among future and current educators, implemented primarily through organizing professional development opportunities to enhance both equity and excellence in teaching, learning, schooling, and leadership.
